The project ‘Muslim Roots in British Army’ was led by a team of enthusiastic and determined young people from Huddersfield of British Pakistani heritage. “The Lost Legacy” exhibition is an outcome of their efforts to research, compile and showcase the legacy of their forefathers in the great British army. Huddersfield Pakistani Community Alliance is a community led organisation established in 1998 and registered as a limited company by Guarantee and a charity in 2004.

Shazad Hussain

Chairperson

Chairperson of HPCA, Shazad comes from a background of community development with keen interest in interfaith relations and community development. 

Azhar Latif

Youth Lead

Azhar comes from the private sector property management/development, brings to the organisation business acumen and flare.  Azhar is also the organisation's youth lead person for HPCA management committee.

Shazia Rani

Secretary

A lecturer in the local college , Shazia offers to the organisation working insight of issues and challenges facing young people in further education.

 

Amar Usman Ali

Treasurer

A practicing barrister, Amar is the organisation's legal mind with in-depth understanding of the community sector.

 

Yasif Salim

committee member

A pharmacist by profession.  Has a local pharmaceutical company, Yasif has close working connection with the local community, but more importantly brings to the organisation good insight on community health issues. 

 

Our Team

  • Rashad Bokhari

    Rashad comes with background of high quality management and delivery in areas of: education, community development, organisational development, people development, strategic planning and financial management.  Robust and proactive in his approach, he is a proven leader in the field.

     

  • Mumtaz Ali

    Mumtaz brings fifteen years of community development experience specialising in youth engagement particularly of disadvantaged backgrounds. He brings passion, energy and creativity to his work with an eye for detail. For him the future prosperity of British Pakistani's depends in our ability to nurture and empower our young people to fulfil their potentials. 

     

  • Ishtiaq Ahmed

    Ishtiaq Ahmed provides strategic  project development support to HPCA management. He has steered the development of HPCA since 2000 onward and continues to guide its forward direction.  Ishtiaq brings to the organisation 38 years of work in the equality, diversity, community development,  community & interfaith relations.

     

  • Jessica Tshole

    Jessica, office administrator with background in Microsoft Dynamics database with keen interest in community development and youth work. Jessica is an exciting addition to our already dynamic team. She brings to the organisation vision, energy and tremendous sense of humour.
